How I Lost Weight and literally removed 5 Inches on my Waist in 3-4 months!

Hello there guys! I almost failed to shared with you my secrets on how I lost weight and removed 5 inches on my waist within a span of 3-4 months. I'm not kidding. So if you're into a strict, depressing, and looks like it's now working diet, you might want to try my tricks and see results that you never imagined could happen.

I started dieting for real when I was on my second year of college. Those were the days when being skinny was the "in" thing. I am itemizing my tips into two. One would contain a list of my healthy tips, and another my not so healthy but will make your fats burn faster tip.=)

Here's are my suggestions for those healthy dieters out there:
1. Don't eat rice. Instead, substitute rice with complex carbo foods such as sweet potatoes, oatmeal, cereals, wheat bread. This makes you full instantly because it is high on dietary fiber and at the same time it is a good source of energy.

2. Don't eat the yolk of the egg because this is high on cholesterol. Instead, eat lots and lots of egg white. Egg white is know to contain complete protein which is essential in the fat burning process.

3. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. This is similar to my no. 1 tip. Since vegetables and fruits are high on dietary fiber, it helps you feel full all the time. Plus it's good on your health and body because as everyone knows these foods are rich in vitamins and minerals.

4. Eat white meats (like chicken and fish) instead of red meats (like pork, beef, goat, veal, venison, lamb, mutton, rabbit, buffalo meat, and beefalo). Red meats gets slowly digested and contains more saturated fats and cholesterol than white meats.

5. Eat less sugary foods like chocolate, ice cream, cake, and candies because these are carbohydrates that can turn into fats once you exceed your normal calorie consumption and not burn these carbos through exercise.

6. Regularly exercise! Exercise burns your fat and consumes the calories you have stored from the foods you ate.

7. Give yourself a break. Assign a day (probably Saturday or Sunday) where you can eat anything you want like chocolates, cakes, or ice cream. Do not eat plenty of these though. Just eat some so you don't feel like you're depriving yourself from the foods you love eating.

And here's another thing I did to remove my fats quicker (not very recommended, specially for those with gastrointestinal problems)
- Buy a slimming coffee or tea from the drug store and drink 3 coffee/tea bags a day or after every meal. I personally use Bavarian Coffee. Note that these slimming coffees/teas have diarrhea like effects which causes dehydration and weight loss. With these, it is advisable to drink lots of water and eat lots of healthy foods like the ones I mentioned above.

There goes my tips. Let me know if this helps you alright? Happy dieting!

Recovering from the Measle Virus

my baby cj while she was confined in the hospital and being treated from measles and suspected pneunomiaMy family and I just arrived home last night from an unexpected vacation at our province. Reason for the long break: our youngest daughter also got infected with the Measle virus.

On one of my posts three weeks ago, I mentioned that one of my daughter is having a vacation in our province coz I didn't want her to catch the measle virus that her elder sister had. But it looked liked my decision was too late. Based from a nursing book entitled Communicable Diseases which i've just started reading yesterday, the Measle virus spreads strongest four days before the Measle starts and three days after the rashes show up. So this probably means my youngest girl already got some virus with her even before they went to the province.

One sad thing that happened though was that she got confined in the hospital due to Pneumonia, which is also one of the complications that can occur due to the Measle virus. I don't know how good the pedia is in that hospital but what i didn't like is that the only prescriptions given for my daughter were for her cough (Mucosolvan), for her Pneumonia (Anti-Bacterial), and fever (Tempra) just incase her temperature goes above the normal condition.

When i was looking and feeling my daughter's condition, it looked like there were dried mucus on her nose which is causing her not to sleep and breath well. For this, I still had to ask the doctor to provide nebulizer and subscribe something to relieve her colds. The doctor agreed and gave prescriptions for this. After 2 rounds of nebulization(i don't know the term), her colds was gone! Another thing i expected the pedia to advice was an antiviral medicine to fight the Measle virus fast. But the doctor didn't give any medications for this.. Good thing we still have a half bottle full of the antiviral syrup which was prescribed by our daughter's pedia in Healthway. I really want to thank Dr. Noreen Serrano for prescribing this antiviral syrup. It really helped finish the spread of the Measle virus quickly!

By the way, I know that it's not right, but i gave this medicine to my daughter without the doctor's knowledge. But after giving continuous dosage of the antiviral syrup to my daughter, the measle rashes subsided in just two days. With this, the Pedia doctor got suspicious and said that it looked like my daughter only got roseola and not measle virus. Hahahaha

My New Breakfast Recipi

I got interested in one of the recipi shared by a chef on Ka Toque (QTv 11) last week. And finally, this morning I made that same recipi I learned for my family. I gave it a different version though. Instead of adding ham alone, i added tuna with a bit of onions and dried basil leaves.

My Crunchy Cheesy Tuna Delight

To share, here's the recipi for my Crunchy Cheesy Tuna Delight

1. 1/2 of white onion - minced

2. pinch of basil leaves - you may use the one from McCormick

3. 1/2 box of cheese - sliced
4. 6 pieces of white or wheat bread - I used Gardenia

5. 1/2 butter
6. 1 cup of cooked tuna
7. 1 can of evaporated or fresh milk - I used Carnation Evaporated milk

8. 1 pack of bread crumbs **please do not use chicken breading here

How to prepare:
1. Mix the tuna and minced onion
2. Using the white/wheat bread, spread your tuna mixture on one side of the bread. Then, sprinkle the tuna mixture with basil leaves. Cover it with another bread. Add the sliced cheese and close the sandwich with another bread.
3. Soak the tuna and cheese sandwich in the milk.
4. Cover the soaked tuna and cheese sandwich in bread crumbs. Set aside.
5. Heat the frying pan and melt the butter. When the butter is melted and hot, put in your tuna and cheese sandwich and cook it in low-medium fire.
6. Slice the Crunch Cheesy Tuna Delight into four. Cool and serve.

**Makes 12 servings
