My new found hobby..

Taking pictures! I've enjoyed doing this for quite some time now but never really had the chance to buy a good camera. Anyhow, now that I have a digital camera along with me, i'll try to show you how I see things my way.=)

Barney Themed Cake and Mini Cupcakes

It's my first time to bake a Barney themed cake. I made this and 40pcs mini cupcakes for David's 1st birthday at Shakey's Sct Tuazon last Saturday, December 12. I think the design looked okay an am glad that my client was happy with the outcome.

I needed to buy two icing tips with the same size so that I won't have a hard time decorating those purple and green stripes on the cake.

This is how it looked like after I put on the icing on the chocolate cake..

This is how it looked like after I added my DIY Barney topper and edible balloon candies. I think Barney did looked extremely excited for the birthday with the balloons around!

And here's the finish product on site=)

They also got our Chocolate Fountain Silver Package for desserts

Tonight I'll be baking Choco Chip Cookies, Almond Choco Chip Biscotti, and Ginger Bread Cookies! We thought it'll be a nice holiday presents for our relatives and friends=) Happy Christmas!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

I was able to sneak in and bake this Caramel Cake topped with nuts and melted chocolate last Sunday night. Just in time to surprise the sweetest man in the universe=) Happy birthday Daddy!

Aside from the cake, I also made cheese cake brownies, my MIL and FIL bought Pancit Malabon as pasalubong, and we ordered for one extra large white pizza (this is free!: we bought a promo ticket last month which entitled us to get this freebie), one extra large premium pizza (i forgot the name but its main ingredients were pesto sauce and prawns), and one regular sized premium pizza(again, forgot the name but I found this one better than the xl premium pizza. Good thing this one also came free from the promo ticket.=)

I was not able to take any shot of these meals though because I and hubby were busy looking for my almost lost cellphone. So bad I that I misplaced this item on a very special occasion. We we're able to get the phone back from BUB (where we were a few hours before his birthday celebration) . Don't want to discuss more about this because I get frustrated remembering this moment. But I was really happy and thankful to God and the cute chinita lady at BUB who was able to find my cellphone which accidentally got hidden at the couch's corner where I was seated when we were there a few hours ago.

Bratz and Barney in Fashion themed 1st and 7th birthdays at Prestige Tower Ortigas Center

This was one of our events held last Saturday. I loved how the party venue was dressed up! The colors were so vibrant and did very well match the theme of the party.
An edited version of my shot..

Our client here requested for a Silver package with Marshmallows, Chocolate Wafer Sticks, Breadsticks, Banana, and Apple for their dippings as Bittersweet chocolate (my favorite!) for their chocolate fondue.

Disney Cars Themed 1st Birthday Party at Benaz Garden, Greenland Exec. Village Cainta Rizal

This is our first event at Cainta, Rizal. We though the venue of this party was too far from our place.. but my client was able to prove me wrong through the sketch she made. We too were surprised that it was nearer than our catered events at Las Pinas (our farthest reached place so far from our Metro Manila events).

I love how our table was setup for this event. It was beautifully decorated with a Disney Cars themed table cover and Lightning McQueen stickers.

They got our Gold Package with Red Chocolate Fondue, Marshmallows, Chocolate Wafer Sticks, Mini Donuts, French Bread, Banana, and Apple as their chosen chocolate and dippings. They also ordered for red, white, and chocolate brown mixed color of sprinklers to match the theme.=)

Finding Nemo Themed 1st Birthday celebration at Mc Donald's Panay Ave Branch

From the colors and the setup alone, I'm quite sure most of you might have guessed that this was a Finding Nemo themed setup.

When we got to the venue, I honestly though that we got lost because the decorations used to dress up the place was Ben Ten and the Gang themed! Haha.. But when my client came and brought in the Finding Nemo themed cake and tarp I instantly got relieved.. whew!

Our client got our Silver Package and chose Premium chocolate with Vanilla Wafer, Breadstick, Marshmallows, Banana, and Apple as their selected choco and dippings.

Just to note, this was by the way our first Finding the Nemo themed setup and our first catered event at Mc Donald's.=)

Disney Cars Pixar Themed 1st Birthday at Ysabel's Garden, Las Pinas

This is our second time to cater at this venue. And.. hmm.. not sure how many times we've catered to this kind of birthday theme. But so far, of all the birthdays with Disney Car theme, this one has the most detail.

Our client here got our Silver Package and chose Blue Milk Chocolate fondue to match their event's motif. It really looked so good because it perfectly matched their table skirts. Their selection of dippings included Choco Wafer Stick(in Brown and Red colored to match their theme), Vanilla Wafer, Marshmallows, Banana, and Apple. They also got themed Sprinkles, Mini Candy Coated Choco Drops, and Honey Coated Crispies.

Happy that our setup was as colorful as their balloons=)

More pictures from our website!

Disney Princess themed 1st Birthday at Las Pinas

This is a Silver Package catered event for Patrizia's first birthday last May 3, 2009. It's the same day Pacquiao won his fight over Haton. =)

The event's motif was yellow and pink. They ordered a Semi-Sweet Chocolate fondue with Breadstick, Marshmallow, Chocolate Wafer Stick, Melon, and Apple.

We're so glad that Ms. May and her guests enjoyed the chocolate fountain=)

They also got sprinklers in blue and brown and mini candy coated choco drops as add-ons.

Zara's 1st Birthday at Tom's World, Robinsons Galleria last Jan 17, 2009

This event had a Barbie themed birthday party. So, to match the theme we also used pink and lavender fountain base skirtings. One thing I noticed was that most, if not all, of the celebrant's grandmas kept on coming back to the chocolate fountain=) I'm so happy that they enjoyed while they were dipping and eating the chocolate coated dippings.

Below are some shots we took that day. They got a Silver Package with chocolate wafer stick, marshmallows, breadstick, apple, and banana dippings.

Feedback and Thank You's on CJ's 1st Bratz Birthday Party at Jollibee McKinley Branch

This is an overdue post about my feedback on CJ’s birthday party supplies. I made an earlier post to thank all our friends and relatives who were able to make it to the party. You can click on this link for that thank you post.
Here goes my feedback:

1.Venue and Setup – Jollibee McKinley Branch
I already knew that Jollibee offers Bratz Pixies as one of its party themes. Considering our limited budget and the fact that everyone loves Jollibee, this venue was for us a perfect choice.

We initially wanted to hold CJ’s birthday bash at Jollibee The Fort branch. But after going there to inquire about their packages, we got a bit frustrated..

Reasons for our disappointment:

  • There was only one slot available for the September 20 event so we had very limited choice on the time of our occasion.
  • The manager mentioned that they do not offer any other themes anymore except for the Jollitown character themes. I was upset after hearing this since I have already started creating my Bratz themed layouts for CJ’s banner and favors with thank you notes. Worst is, he mentioned that all Jollibee branches now are only offering the Jollitown character themed birthday party.

However, since we always pass by Jollibee McKinley branch, I know that that guy we just talked to was probably misinformed because I just saw the McKinley branch hold a Bratz themed party a week before we went to The Fort branch.

To cut the story short, we went to McKinley branch and reserved the 4-6pm time on September 20. We were so fortunate that nobody yet has reserved for an event on that day=)

The party package we got already included 30pcs of balloons and Bratz themed party supplies such as the party hat, name tag, banner, loot bags, prizes, plus a gift for the birthday celebrant.

We were so happy that we decided to hold the party at Jollibee McKinley branch. Everyone enjoyed the entire time because the two party host were amazing! They really knew how to make the party fun and full of life. I personally enjoyed Jollibee's four wishes because he always dances before and after he gives his wish.

2.CJ’s dress – MuÅ„eca from www.sears.com
This dress was given as a gift from my aunt Becky. Both my two girls had exactly the same design. I wanted both of them to wear it on the event so that the elder one won’t feel at lost. These dresses looked so fabulous on them. It even has an underwear to match the gown. Thanks for these gowns ninang Becky!

3.CJ’s shoesBaby Shoes from SM Makati
We were already set to buy CJ’s shoes from Chicco. But since my two girls are wearing the same outfit, I thought it would be nice if they too wore the same kind of shoes. Unfortunately, the cute Chicco shoes we saw doesn’t have a size that would fit her sister’s so we opted to look for another one. Luckily, we saw this adorable pair of shoes that both has CJ and Missy’s size. The color of the shoes perfectly blended with their dress. We also bought the black knee high stockings from SM. I could probably say that both the shoes and the stockings were comfortable on them cause they would normally remove it if incase the stockings made them itch or if the shoes didn’t fit right.

4.CJ’s Cake – Max’s The Bake Shop and Kitchen Krafts
CJ had two cakes on that day and I was so blessed that those cakes were sponsored by two of her godparents. We were not able to distribute it on the venue though since Jollibee prohibits distribution of edible items other than those they have. Anyway, we shared the cakes to some of our guests and neighbors when we got home. Without doubt both cakes were yummy! I enjoyed eating Kitchen Krafts's cake because it was moist and not too sweet. I also heard lots of complements from Max's Caramel Butter cake. Thanks for the cake ninang Lourdes and ninang Che..!

5.Banner, Favors & Thank You notes : My DIYs!
I created the layout of the banner, Cj’s images on the favors, and the thank you note using Adobe Photoshop. I had the banner printed at Signex for a very cheap price=). The printed copy was a bit darker that expected though. So, incase you plan to have your banners printed by them, maybe in would look better if you give them a bit brighter image.

Since the thank you note was in a form of a picture and was not covered or protected by any plastic or frame, I decided to have them printed at the Kodak kiosk. I’ve heard that pictures that gets printed from these kiosks are water proofed and has lifetime warranty (from dust and lost of color due to age). Sweet..!

We bought the favors from Divi mall in bulk for an incredibly cheap cost. Like what I mentioned on my previous post, a piece of this favor would cost you Php50.00 in Market! Market!. The ones we got were 50% lesser than that! Another cheap buy for us;-)

6.Photographer – Tita Lala
Due to our limited budget, we had no choice but to utilize our own digital camera. Thank God my cousin offered to take the pictures on that day. Thanks tita Lala..!

Unfortunately, some of the images didn't come out well since the camera had low resolution. For this reason, I just though of grouping the images into a digital scrapbook pages.

Hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as everyone enjoyed the event.=)

Happy 1st Birthday Carrie Justine!

I am so happy that everyone enjoyed CJ's birthday bash last Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008. We held a simple celebration of CJ's birthday last Sept 18 (that's her real birthday) and schedule for a bigger celebration at Jollibee McKinley on a Saturday. I'd like to use this post to send our heart felt gratitude to everyone who made this event a success.

First, I'd like to thank God for making this special event in our child's life a success. All my little prayer requests were granted such as that there'd be more kids than adults on the party, that the final cost wouldn't reach our limited budget, and that everyone would enjoy the party.. Thank you Lord for always hearing my prayers!

Next, I'd like to thank my husband for being supportive while I plan for CJ's birthday party. My hubby really doesn't agree in giving out big parties like these but I'm so happy that he allowed me do anything I want for this one. So..thanks for that dad!

Third, I'd like to thank our family for the BIG help and support! They've always been behind us and I know always will be. Special credits goes to my mama and papa=)

Fourth, I'd like to thank the party hosts (coz we had three of them), Jollibee mascot, and the rest of the staff of Jollibee McKinley Branch for making the birthday party a hit! I really believe that the party's success also greatly relies on the party host.

And lastly, I'd like to thank CJ's god parents (specially those who sponsored some of her party supplies), and all our guest who came over, played, laughed, and enjoyed the entire time with us. Words are not enough to say how much we appreciate the time you devoted to help us celebrate and make this day a fun-filled one=)

Since I am still not able to edit the pictures at this time due to my dead laptop, I'll just put you on hold and keep you excited for a while. Anyway, I'd try my best to post the pictures latter this week or most probably early next week.

Thanks for the read my friends:)

Today CJ Officially Turned ONE!

Wow! Time really flies so fast.. My youngest sweetie is now 1yr old. I can still recall what happened on this same day of last year.. She came to the world three weeks earlier than expected because my latest biophysical score showed that the amniotic fluid was already below the normal range.

A lot of moms were delivering on that day. So even if I was scheduled for a C-Section at 5pm, we had no choice but to wait until almost 7pm. At 7:10 I was already in the operating room. The first epidural anesthesia was given at around 7:30pm. But since I was still able to move the lower portion of my left body even after 15 minutes, they had no choice but to do a retap (my second shot). Weird thing is that they still had to literally sway my legs from left to right to spread the anesthesia on both sides of the lower portion of my body. Good thing the swaying helped because one of the doctors mentioned that it's not advisable to do another shot(third shot).

The operation started around 8:20pm and CJ came out crying at around 8:32pm. I really did a time record of all the events that was happening during the operation and I made sure that I won't fall asleep (even with two epidural shots!) because I wanted to hear her first cry and of course I wanted to make sure that she was alive and safe.

I haven’t had the time to create a post about this story so I think this is the perfect time to do it.

Anyways, here are some pictures taken on CJ’s birth day!

Her christening day followed three months after. Check out my post about her christening day and my preparations from this link.

CJ's latest Photo shots for her coming birthday=)

This is the last weekend before Cj's big day. So obviously my entire weekend was devoted to her birthday preps. Yesterday I again had another photo shoot with the coming birthday girl and this time I made her wear her birthday outfit. You can check out our first photo shoot from this link.

I am really happy and excited that everything is ready (except for the tarp and the signature frame which needs to be printed early this week of course.)

Anyways, here's her gown from US which really looks extravagant on her,

DIY Preps for My Little CJ's Coming 1st Birthday - Part 3!

My official count down to CJ's birthday is now down to only 1 week and 6 days! And this time, I'm almost done with my to-do's.

Here are additional updates I have as a continuation of the Part 2 post:
1. We have already given our down payment at Jollibee McKinley. The cost of the down payment broken down into the following:
a. 50% of the food package for the kids which already is inclusive of the Party Favors (with 20 assorted game prizes, 10 crayons, 1 mascot appearance for 30 mins, 30 party balloons, and a themed guestbook)
b. 50% of the food package for adults
c. 100% of other party add-ons such as the loot bags, nametags, party hats, party liners, etc.

My side comment : I find this branch better than the other branch we visited along Fort Bonifacio. All the staffs here from the service crew up to the manager are very friendly, courteous, and easy to talk to. Even if we were not able to get the invitation the day we paid our down payment (due to their stock shortage on their bratz themed invites), i still would recommend people near these locations to choose this branch rather than the other i mentioned earlier.

2. I'm almost done with the thank you note / souvenir item.=)

This is what we're giving out on that day

Here is what it looks like with the Thank You note clipped

Check out the different selection of CJ's growing up pictures that will be given out on her birthday from here.

I just need to add white or gold or both colored ribbons before I consider it done.

3. We already got the party invitations and have already distributed them to most of our guests. I really love Jollibee's Bratz Themed invites!! So glad we decided to choose Jollibee and this theme for our baby's birthday.

Sharing some sample shots of the Bratz themed invitation card

And what you'll see when you open the card

4. Her growing up collage which will also stand as her signature frame is also almost done. I only need to take a picture of CJ on her real birthday(September 18) before i have it printed.
