Preparing for my Singapore business trip

Yey! It's just one sleep away till our scheduled flight. Here's what I've prepared so far..

1. Me and my hubby's passport. Thanks to DFA, passports are now easily processed.=)
2. Acquired an NSO Certified Marriage Certificate. I still have my maiden name on my passport. So I got one just to make sure I won't be encountering any problems.
3. Allowance is already ready
4. My camera and battery
5. Clothes (of course!)
6. Face masks and alcohol/alcogel -> protection against swine flu!
7. Printed the confirmation for booking note for the hotel where me and hubby will be staying
8. Printed my Oracle workshop training agenda
9. Printed the excel file from our .Net client who I'll be meeting at their office in Pandan Crescent after my day 1 training at Suntec Tower 4.
10. Installed Oracle 10g, Hyperion Essbase, Hyperion Planning, HFM, and the Reporting and Analysis tools in preparation for my workshop.
11. Installed MSSQL 2005, Visual Studio .Net 2005, and got all the latest codes from our Visual Source Safe in preparation for my meeting with our .Net client.
12. Printed maps so me and hubby won't get lost! hahaha
13. Contacted our clients (from my personal business) and mentioned that someone will be attending to their events while we're away.

I still need to..
1. Buy a travel power adapter so I won't have a problem plugging in my gadgets.
2. Buy food supplies for my todders, their nanny, and my mom who will be staying with my girls while we're away. big thanks for this mom!
3. Oh yeah, and pack all our clothes in! =P

As for my thoughts..
1. Hope we get to go visit a lot of places even if we only have 3 free nights to do it.
2. Hope i don't get lost once i ride the cab from Suntec to Pandan Crescent.
3. Hope we get to take lots of nice pictures and dine at the hawker centers to taste their authentic singaporean cuisines..yummy!
4. And, hope we get to buy nice stuff for pasalubong=)

It's me and my hubby's first time to travel alone without the kids since we got married.. we'll surely miss them a lot..It's only four days I know..but that still is a lot to me. Hmm... at least we have the internet to talk and see each other through webcams!

It's now exactly 24 hours left before our flight. Will post about our travel by next week!=)

Royal Icing and our new Cupcake Tower! Yipee!

I've been baking a couple of times using buttercream icing. But my hubby always says he wants a different one because his not a big fan of buttery tasting food. Well, he's not into fondant either because he said it tastes so sweet.. So, my only option was to go search for a good Royal Icing recipe.

When I got the icing recipe I needed, I was actually surprised to find out that it was so easy to make one! It has lesser ingredients, it's better tasting (especially for those who want to do away with the fats), and it's best for decorating and lettering=) And since last weekend was my SIL's birthday celebration day, I had the best excuse to bake and try the royal icing recipe=P

I was really happy with the outcome. Everyone raved about the mini cupcakes! Glad that I finally was able to bake that soft consistency I wanted in a chocolate cake. Actually, my simple trick was to add a little extra baking powder on my recipe.

About the cupcake tower we used, we recently bought that from a multiply seller. Was so happy that I found her coz I've been searching the net for a seller for months! I'm by the way renting out this cupcake tower. You could check out our multiply site for the cost.

Here are some pics of the mini cupcakes I made last weekend. This was my first royal icing decorated cupcakes.. so wait till you see my next coz that will surely look a lot better.=)

Check out more dessert treats from our site!=)

Hawaiian Luau Themed 7th Birthday at Grilla Bar, Makati

It's our first event at Grilla Bar and I must say that this venue does look perfect for an Hawaiian inspired party=) The party venue is held upstairs which is divided into two areas, convenient for both smokers and non-smokers. It's decor are mostly made out of wood and bamboos. There are also artificial plants inside and those hanging lamps you see in some beach resorts.. I am actually thinking of suggesting this venue for our corporate Christmas Party!! hahaha! lol

Note though that they don't have that much lights on the party area. I'm not that sure if my client requested not to open more lights on or there's just none!haha=) Well my hubby mentioned that it's maybe designed that way because it's a "bar". No harm offense to the management of this restaurant, but in case there's really no other lights except for those dim small lights on the ceiling and lamps on the side walls, I think it'll be best to start thinking about adding more lights now since they are now offering the party area to kiddie parties.

We were happy to know that our client and their guests we're pleased with our setup and enjoyed their dessert treat. Glad that we also found those yellow, orange, and pink colored wafer sticks coz it did match their theme perfectly!

This is a Silver Package with Yellow colored Chocolate Fondue. For their dippings, they chose Marshmallows, Vanilla Wafer, Wafer Sticks, Melon, and Apple. They also got sprinklers in yellow, orange, and green colors to match their theme.

7th Birthday in Disney Cars Theme at The Oasis Manila

We catered to a 7th birthday event last Saturday at The Oasis Manila . It was our first time to have a client requesting for a Caramel fondue.

We actually came in a bit late (due to my miscalculated cooking time for the caramel).. Thank God it was gloomy and rainy that Saturday morning. lol.. I mean, a lot of guest came in late because of the weather.

I love looking at these Chinese lantern lights at the ceiling of this venue. It sure is a nice place for a Chinese or Asian inspired event.

Their beautifully landscaped garden also makes it look like a nice location for a garden wedding..

My First Mini Cupcakes=)

Aside from our chocolate fountain services, these minis are what I did last weekend. Thank God these cute little cuppies came out as I expected theme to be.. The message said "Happy 4th Monthsery Jessica & Robin" and was just enough for their 30pcs mini cupcake order.

Those covered with Mocha Icing are my Chocolate Fudgy Cupcakes and those in swirling icing of Darksweet Buttercream Icing are Chocolate Mint Cupcakes.=)

Piggy Themed Cupcakes!

Here's my second project guys! I really enjoyed baking these cute piggies=)

They look sooo like a cute family of pigs! The icings used in these cakes are all butter cream. But I used melted milk chocolate belgian choco to draw their mouth, whole on their nose, and cute little eyes.

This is blue daddy piggy and..

Totally Overwhelmed and Excited!

I'll be in Singapore for this Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM): Performance Tuning Workshop from June 25-26. I'm supposedly having this workshop with my immediate superior..but since her doctor didn't allow her to leave the country (maybe to refrain her and their soon-to-be baby from getting stressed..) I have no choice but to be on this training/workshop on my own.

Thank God my immediate superior allowed and helped me find way to bring my hubby with me! Honestly, this is going to be our first ever out of the country trip.. our first plane ride.. and our first out of the country date! hahaha=) At least in case i get lost, i wont be lost alone coz i will still be sharing that experience with my sweetie!=P Thank so much Mam(i) Weng=)

Can't wait to tell you my story of what it's like for a newbie plane rider and a tourist!

Disney Cars Themed 1st Birthday Party at Benaz Garden, Greenland Exec. Village Cainta Rizal

This is our first event at Cainta, Rizal. We though the venue of this party was too far from our place.. but my client was able to prove me wrong through the sketch she made. We too were surprised that it was nearer than our catered events at Las Pinas (our farthest reached place so far from our Metro Manila events).

I love how our table was setup for this event. It was beautifully decorated with a Disney Cars themed table cover and Lightning McQueen stickers.

They got our Gold Package with Red Chocolate Fondue, Marshmallows, Chocolate Wafer Sticks, Mini Donuts, French Bread, Banana, and Apple as their chosen chocolate and dippings. They also ordered for red, white, and chocolate brown mixed color of sprinklers to match the theme.=)

Finding Nemo Themed 1st Birthday celebration at Mc Donald's Panay Ave Branch

From the colors and the setup alone, I'm quite sure most of you might have guessed that this was a Finding Nemo themed setup.

When we got to the venue, I honestly though that we got lost because the decorations used to dress up the place was Ben Ten and the Gang themed! Haha.. But when my client came and brought in the Finding Nemo themed cake and tarp I instantly got relieved.. whew!

Our client got our Silver Package and chose Premium chocolate with Vanilla Wafer, Breadstick, Marshmallows, Banana, and Apple as their selected choco and dippings.

Just to note, this was by the way our first Finding the Nemo themed setup and our first catered event at Mc Donald's.=)
