Friendster Account for Babies

How I wish there was a Friendster website for babies where you can put all their growing up pictures and videos, milestones, favorites and the like. With the growing number of moms already embracing and enjoying the benefits of this internet age, I'm certain that it will surely be a hit.

But since we don't have that yet at this point of time.. I used our old pal Friendster and created two friendster accounts for each of my daughters. You may check them out here for Missy's account and here for CJ's account.

What I enjoyed most on the process was that I was able to discover how easy it is to create your own version of friendster layout. For Missy's account, I gave her a Dora the Explorer Theme. This is her favorite cartoon character so i believe she'll enjoy looking at her account with this theme. For CJ's account, I gave it a Bratz Theme. I just thought of using this theme since her coming birthday party is Bratz themed. But I plan to change this theme to the Backyardigans since she also loves watching this Nick Cartoon Characters.

Hope you find their layouts cute! I still have a lot of furnishing to do there.

Posting for Others

I was moved by the welcoming picture and inspiring message on Jay's corner which i have stumbled upon just awhile ago. The blog talks more about gadgets, games, and other technology related topics but I found the message very striking as it reminded me to assess and reflect on my attitude towards others. Hold on, you might think that I'm a bad person. All I'm saying here is that it is good to check on ourselves sometimes.

Recalling what our Pastor mentioned last Sunday, he said if you're really a Christian, you should always let others see that in you. God should shine in you. Being a true Christian should start by thinking like one and acting like one.

By the way, just want to share some trivia, did you know that the word Christian was used in the Bible only three times? This can be seen on Acts 11:26; 26:28; and 1 Peter 4:16.

Recovering from the Measle Virus

my baby cj while she was confined in the hospital and being treated from measles and suspected pneunomiaMy family and I just arrived home last night from an unexpected vacation at our province. Reason for the long break: our youngest daughter also got infected with the Measle virus.

On one of my posts three weeks ago, I mentioned that one of my daughter is having a vacation in our province coz I didn't want her to catch the measle virus that her elder sister had. But it looked liked my decision was too late. Based from a nursing book entitled Communicable Diseases which i've just started reading yesterday, the Measle virus spreads strongest four days before the Measle starts and three days after the rashes show up. So this probably means my youngest girl already got some virus with her even before they went to the province.

One sad thing that happened though was that she got confined in the hospital due to Pneumonia, which is also one of the complications that can occur due to the Measle virus. I don't know how good the pedia is in that hospital but what i didn't like is that the only prescriptions given for my daughter were for her cough (Mucosolvan), for her Pneumonia (Anti-Bacterial), and fever (Tempra) just incase her temperature goes above the normal condition.

When i was looking and feeling my daughter's condition, it looked like there were dried mucus on her nose which is causing her not to sleep and breath well. For this, I still had to ask the doctor to provide nebulizer and subscribe something to relieve her colds. The doctor agreed and gave prescriptions for this. After 2 rounds of nebulization(i don't know the term), her colds was gone! Another thing i expected the pedia to advice was an antiviral medicine to fight the Measle virus fast. But the doctor didn't give any medications for this.. Good thing we still have a half bottle full of the antiviral syrup which was prescribed by our daughter's pedia in Healthway. I really want to thank Dr. Noreen Serrano for prescribing this antiviral syrup. It really helped finish the spread of the Measle virus quickly!

By the way, I know that it's not right, but i gave this medicine to my daughter without the doctor's knowledge. But after giving continuous dosage of the antiviral syrup to my daughter, the measle rashes subsided in just two days. With this, the Pedia doctor got suspicious and said that it looked like my daughter only got roseola and not measle virus. Hahahaha

First steps to Make Money Online

Having internet connection at home nowadays is not a luxury. With the growing number of ways to earn money online, a lot of full time working moms like me are starting to use the internet to help them increase their income. And the good thing is, most of them are successful!

Here are some steps that we need to do and know to earn and be successful in this new venture:
1. Create your Paypal account! This is where you'll see your money roll in. If you're not sure on how that is done, simply click on this link and sign-up.:)

2. If you're in the Philippines and you do not have a credit card/debit card, go to the nearest Unionbank and apply for your EON card. The EON or Electronic OnliNe card is a Visa Electron debit card which you can use to withdaw your earnings which have been credited to your Paypal account. The bank will only require you to submit a filled-up form and two photocopies of two valid identification cards. The ids they allow are only those which has your picture and signature on it.

3. Start creating your own blog and make sure to add meaningfull posts a few times a week.

4. There are different ways for you to earn money online. Some pay you for creating sponored advertisements. Some pay you for advertising. Some pay you for clicking on other sites. Some pay you for reading advertiser's emails. Some pay you for referring them to others.. Some pay you for just joining conversations. My advice is: make sure that those you have found are not scams. One of my criteria for a non-scammer is that they don't require you to pay them to start earning.

Here are some of my favorites:
a. GoogleAdsense
b. BuyBlogReviews
c. Dneero
d. SponsoredReviews
e. PayPerPost
f. Smorty
g. Hits4Pay
h. BidVertiser
i. EasyHits4U
j. Visit4Cash
k. ClixSense

But if you want to use the internet for working purposes, you may also checkout internet typing jobs or online data entry jobs.

Hope this helps you and God bless!

DIY Preps for my little CJ's coming 1st birthday: Part 2

This is a continuation of a previous post I made last month.

I'm starting to get really excited coz it's only a few more weeks to go before CJ's birthday! Here's a list of what we've added to the preparation:

1. For the Cake - I've already called up Kitchen Krafts to explain what design I have in mind. The invoice have already been faxed to me. Payment will be deposited to their account within this month.

2. For the souvenirs - We bought a few boxes of picture clipper from Divi mall. I was so happy for choosing those as my souvenirs coz I saw exactly the same thing at Market! Market! which costs 50PHP each. The ones I bought were more than 50% cheaper than that!

3. To make my daughter's souvenirs personal, I bought sticker papers at National Bookstore so I can print her pictures and stick it on the picture clippers.

4. We have already reserved the 4-6pm slot at Jollibee McKinley. When we got there last week, I was happy to find out that no one has reserved a schedule for that day yet which is a bit weird for me coz I thought a lot of kids are born on September.=)Check out Jollibee's website if you'd like to find out more about their party packages.

5. I found a cute white chicco shoes for CJ which we plan to get a week before her birthday. But i'm still looking for a pair of shoes for Missy. Hope i can find one that looks similar to the one i'm getting for CJ..

Planning for a Halloween Costume =)

It’s only two more weeks to go before the ber months starts kicking in! Aside from my daughter’s coming birthday on September, another ber month to look for is the last day of October!

Entering the month of November will always remind us of Halloween. Halloween is very much celebrated in most western countries and occasionally in some parts of Australia. Although it is not part of our country’s tradition, most malls, multinational companies, and some residential areas here nowadays prepare and celebrate this fun and joyous event.

What I like most about Halloween is the spirit of giving.. giving candies.. and chocolates .. and little toys for example. I also enjoy watching the kids walk in different colorful costumes as they do their trick-or-treating.

And since kids need costumes for trick-or-treating, I tried to search for online stores that sell different costumes for kids. Luckily, I stumbled upon this website that specializes in costumes! I am really excited and am actually thinking of ordering costumes for my daughters. The store is awesome! They can ship from anywhere in the world and even accepts payment thru PayPal! The links are well organized so you can easily search for whatever you like. Another great think I liked about this site is that you can chat with their agents. With this, you are ensured that any question you may have in mind can definitely be answered quickly. Plus, their rates are very affordable!! So if you’re are thinking of getting Halloween Costumes for your kids or anyone for that matter (since they do cater to any age), check them out!

Here’s a sample of a costume I really think would look cute for my daughters:

beautiful cheap halloween costumes online
This Blue Sky Fairy Toddler costume is only worth $26.95! That already includes the dress, wings, booties, and matching headpiece. Sweet huh!!!

By the way, all these costumes adhere to the halloween costume safety standards.

My Baby is on Vacation

The following day after Missy’s birthday, we went to the Healthway Clinic at Market! Market! to have Missy checked by a Pedia doctor. Sadly though, we have confirmed that she had been infected with the Measles Virus. And since my youngest daughter, CJ, hasn’t been given the Measles vaccine yet, I had no choice but to request my parents to take care of her in the province and also have her vaccinated there as soon as possible while her sister is still recuperating.

This is the first time that CJ is away from all of us (that includes me, dad, and Missy). And so to help my parents make CJ feel that she’s not that far from us, I packed her favorite musical toys, doll, and DVDs. I do hope that she is enjoying her short vacation there without us with her.

But like any other moms out there, I do think of her so often. I know that she’s been out from home for barely two days but I really do miss my CJ so much! I miss seeing her smile. I miss hearing her talk so much especially when I put her to sleep. I miss watching her crawl towards me. I miss everything about her. Hmmm… I guess I have to stop thinking about her too much coz as per my mom, doing so will make my daughter not go to sleep easily. I don’t know if it’s a superstitious belief or something of that sort but I do know it doesn’t have any scientific fact. Anyway, I have to refrain my thinking about her so that I also would not feel so depressed. Gotta go then!

Celebrating Missy's 2nd Birthday

We held a simple but memorable birthday celebration of our eldest daughter last Thursday, August 7. I wouldn’t say it was fun filled though coz the birthday girl was still sick on that day. But I still would like to thank everyone for coming over most especially my parents who drove all the way from our province. I’m sure Missy would have enjoyed that day more had she felt better coz the dinning table was set and filled with her requested foods such as the chocolate chiffon cake, ice cream, spaghetti, and fried chicken. I’m not making up stories here you guys..=) a week before her birthday she has already pictured what foods she wanted to eat on her special day! LoL=)

By the way, even if the party was held at home, I still made sure that the entire house will have that birthday party atmosphere. Again, I would like to thank mom here for providing the balloons, my dad and my cousin for helping me inflate some of them, and our nanny for helping me stick the ceiling balloons and the flower balloons,to my hubby for helping me pull off this party to a reality, and most of all to God for making this all happen. Thanks guys!

A Photo Session with Mom

What I like best about being a mom of two cute daughters is that I get the chance to dress up them up like they’re Barbie dolls! Last weekend, I had a chance to do this coz I was planning to do my own version of photo session with them. My initial goal was to produce a nice shot of CJ which I can use for her birthday party’s backdrop. But ofcourse I wouldn’t want to miss dressing up Missy too so that they’ll both enjoy doing the fashion thingy with me as their photographer.

Will just be sharing my best picks for that photo session:

I like looking at this image a lot=) She looks so cute!
my baby's adorable picture

A funny picture of Cj as she attempts to remove her head band
cj looking so cute and cuddly

Note that this photo shot was done while Dora the Explorer was playing in the background. You can see how much observant she is as she watches her favorite chartoon character.=)

Here’s a pretty nice shot of Missy. Again, remember that their best friend, Dora, is playing in the background.

And here’s a close up look. Another cutie=)

Hope you enjoyed viewing my two daughters first photo shot with me!

WANTED

wanted starring angelina jolie
Angelina Jolie’s latest movie, Wanted, is another big hit! I like this movie coz there are a lot of twist on the story. Those whom you initially thought were heroes and Wesley’s associates will turn out as villains in the end.

In this movie, Angelina, who stars as Fox, portraits the role of a beautiful lady who works for a fraternity of assassins. She meets Wesley, an Account Manager, whose life will change after she reveals to him his true identity. Well, initially Wesley thought everything was turning out right until he killed his real dad, the man who he taught killed his what they let him believe to be his dad.

If you’re starting to get a little bit puzzled by this post, then start calling up your buddies and set for a date on the nearest theater to watch the Wanted. Have fun! =)

What do you do when your baby has fever?

My eldest daughter, Missy, got fever just this weekend. And I really got so worried coz her temperature went up to as high as 40c! What’s worse is that she keeps on crying every time she wakes up which I think is due to dizziness or headache. Another thing that makes it worst is that she almost doesn’t want to eat! Is this really normal for a turning two year old baby? She’ll be having her second birthday this coming Thursday. I hope she gets well soon in time for her big day. I do not want to see her feel bad or look sad on that day.

To share, here is what I’m doing to help her get well soon.
1. Instead on giving her normal dose of Vitamin C, I add half more dose after 12 hours. I’ve read somewhere that it’s okay to give more than the normal dose of Vitamin C since this vitamin can easily get out of your system thru the urine.
2. I always check on her temperature and wipe her forehead, neck, armpits, and feet with cloth pre-soaked in cold water and alcohol. My MIL advised me to do this to help lower down her fever. Of course Tempra is also there to assist.
3. I do what she pleases just to refrain her from crying. Missy has a tendency of throwing up when she cries reason why I have to do this. Like I mentioned above, she almost doesn’t eat.
4. And lastly, to sustain her vitamins and mineral insufficiency due to her lack of food intake, I give her vitamins. I’ve always been trying to make her eat food but all she wants right now is milk, milk, and more milk.
5. I am heading to the drug store in a moment to buy what her Pedia has subscribed to her. Since she doesn’t eat well, her Pedia prescribed her a capsule which will be added to her milk. Her doctor mentioned that this will make her eat more. I don’t know how but I am excited to see my baby crave for food.
